Sometimes life can be a little "Ruff!"
A.R.V.S.S. can make it great!

This is a message from Karen - our contact for the Red Lake Indian Reservation rescues... We will be meeting her in St. Cloud MN on the 17th of February to bring back some very needy animals.
This is a sample of what she sees and has to deal with on a regular basis. Please open your hearts and help us help her. We will be taking her dog food and medicines when we go.
Karen sends this message out to all the rescue groups she works with ... ARVSS may not end up with any of these dogs, but others who need good homes all the same... and now you know why we do what we do...
Dear Animal Rescue Friends:
To follow up on the four cases of animal abuse at RedLake, I am sending photos of the victims. Three cases came to me this week on Tuesday - Thursday. I have done alot of crying this week.
The purpose of the email is to seek out 4 people who would be willing to invest in these poor little ones who have been so mistreated by the human race to make sure that they are rehabilitated and that they never have to be abused again.
Hayley

Haley is a red shepard cross, female who had a litter of pups with 2 survivors. I had been feeding her once per week when I was in the village of Ponemah. I had rescued 2 of her littermates this past
sumer, but could never catch Haley. When I arrrive to feed her on Tuesday, I found her back badly burned. The lady there said she was hit by a car. I knew that she had been the one who poured hot grease on little Haley's back. Her only crime was to try to get food so she could nurse her babies. The lady said she is a stray.
Chocolate Lab
At the same place there was another dog which crawled out from under the porch and it had a chain length of l foot. I had not seen this dog before and she had just came with the lady's sister from another town. I told the lady, please help me, we have to get her some length to move around. She said I keep her like that because I do not want her around the other dogs. The dog was starving and had no bedding and no water. Her right eye was injured and white looking. She appears to be a chocolate lab. She has a sweet nature and looked at me as if begging, "Please help me"
Sandy
Then there is Sandy. A woman called me this week and asked me to take a juvenile cream colored shepard/lab mix, Then she told me that a boy next door had poked out Sandy's right eye with a stick about 3 months ago. She was his dog, so the puppy ran to her house. She fed her and now wanted us to take her. Sandy has mange, and infection in her left eye and the right eye is totally poked out. She sat on the front seat of the pickup on the way home tonight and I promised her she would get medical care and a good loving home.
Casey
Lastly, Casey came to me 2 -3 weeks ago. He was a "bait" dog for people who train pit bulls to fight. Casey's face is full of the scars of this abuse that has gone on repeatedly. His ears have scars on every peice of flesh. When I found him Casey was chained on a tree lying on a chunk of ice and had no food or water. His face swollen and infected very badly. I thought that he had mange at first. I started Ivomectin and antibiotics. After the healing began, it was then I was horrified to see all the scars. He is a black lab mix and very nice to people. Casey wants a chance to be loved.
I am asking anyone who wishes to take on one of these poor little ones and give them a good home. They all have the will to live, and I just know there is someone out there for Haley, Choc Lab mix, Sandy and Casey.
I do not mean to offend you with the photos, but they tell the story better than a thousand words can say.
Peace, Karen Good, Red Lake Rosie's Rescue
